I enjoyed delivering a keynote address this afternoon at my alma mater, The Cleveland Institute of Art, to a group of incoming students and their parents during “Accepted Student Preview Day”.
Key points (with examples from my own career) were the value of visual literacy, the importance of applying creativity to every aspect of life, and the need to embrace uncertainty in a world where the most dramatic change has been the acceleration of change itself (to paraphrase Ray Kurzweil).
My foundation design teacher of 30-odd years ago, Richard Fiorelli, graced me with perhaps the best summary of one of my talks. 😉
